MGT Construction was proud to contribute to the development of Gatwick Airport’s all-electric vehicle charging station. By integrating innovative temporary works designs and precise formwork solutions, MGT delivered a high-quality result while meeting the unique challenges of this project.
Project Overview
Situated at the Gatwick South Terminal, this cutting-edge charging station required meticulous planning and execution. The project involved constructing a 4m high reinforced concrete blast wall to safeguard the adjacent hotel from battery storage operations. Additionally, MGT constructed various substations, transformer bases, and lift pits for vehicles and personnel. Despite the complexity, the project was completed in March 2023 with 300m³ of concrete placed across a 213m² surface area.
